Hallelujah, Praise the Lord, Makena finally got to take the road test part of the driving test😊 We have said we were taking this test literally every Monday since New Years Day and almost every Monday one of three things happened: 1. Rain 2. Holiday 3. Sickness
We caught a nice day with a super nice driving instructor and passed the first time. Of course she rubbed it in big sisters face just a tad (it took Carlie 3 times to pass😂😂). Anyway, that part is over and now we are just waiting until the summer to try and find her a car. I may have to start me a GoFundMe page for donations😣😣
I am super proud of her and I love to see her smile 😁

It's hard to believe that she will be 16 in July. She was always my laid back, go with the flow sweet baby. She is still sweet and easy going but definitely not my baby anymore. She has dreams of going (far) away to college. She loves the chance to get away from home (with or without me). While I would never want to hold her back from "living" her life, I am a little sad that she is so eager to go. I am proud of her. I feel like she is firmly grounded in her beliefs and I pray that she will let God lead her.
Three song titles keep coming to my mind as I am writing this: "I Will Trust In You" by Lauren Diagle, "A Love That Lets Go" by Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, and "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman.
It's hard being a parent. You spend so much time and energy teaching your kids things, beating yourself up when you fail, and praying that they will be safe, happy, and pleasing to God. It makes me wish that I had been a little more understanding of my parents as a teen and young adult because really they only wanted (and still do) what was best for me.
Much Love,
Beth
