Pomp & Circumstance: Carlie Graduates

She was one of 105 graduates, graduating on this day.

Walking across the stage and getting that hard-earned diploma!

She was ecstatic.

The Five Mungers

Sista, Sista

And little bro had to get in on the action.

Carl, baby Mattox, Carlie, and Aunt Wendy

Aunt Jeannie and Carlie

Papaw TR, Carlie, and Nana

Carlie's favorite person....Brent!

My parents were at the graduation, they just left as soon as it was over to get us a table at The Rock House, which wouldn't take reservations, so we just had to hurry and get there.
My niece and one of my nephews also came. Jamie had to stay home with Eli because he had the stomach virus.

Our whole crew.
We love these people more than they know.

What a week! Carlie had to go to the doctor at the beginning of the week because her tonsils were the size of golf balls and she couldn't swallow. Turns out she had a bad case of strep. The doctor said it was one of the worst he had seen. I felt bad for her but it did force her to slow down. She is constantly on the go! Between work, Brent, and trying to get ready for graduation she has been busy. She got antibiotics, a steroid,  and was told to rest.
She still felt kind of bad the day of graduation, but was much better on Sunday (the day after). She claimed it was because she got to see Brent....whatever!
We are so proud of her. She worked so hard this year: juggling high school, a job, and college..then add a boyfriend to the mix. She has always been my most determined child and that determination and a whole lot of prayer is what has gotten her this far. She was accepted into the Baptist Health College of surgical technology and will begin on July first. For now she will be commuting four days a week, at least until she begins clinicals in October. The sky is the limit for my sweet girl!
One down, two more to go!!

"Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest."
Joshua 1:9

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
