Pumpkin Carving & Family Pictures

 Happy Monday friends!  We had a fun family weekend.  All of my kids were here, and that calls for a happy mama!

Makena was home for fall break.  She got to help me with Wrenley and loved every minute of it.

My parents hosted a pumpkin carving party at their shop on Saturday evening.  It was also a birthday party for my sister :)

My parents were pretty happy to have all of the kids/grandkids/Wrenley present.

I didn't even take a picture of all of the pumpkins together, but the kids had such a good time carving them and just spending time together.  We only get to see my sisters kids every other weekend so when they get together they always enjoy it.

We attempted family pictures on Sunday after lunch but it was super windy.  We may try again when Makena is back home.  We got a few but not exactly what I was going for.  I haven't edited them yet, so maybe I can fix some spacing issues.

Family:  a group of people, each a unique masterpiece, sharing unconditional love and support.  One of life's greatest blessings.

  Happy Monday, friends! Well, here we are again. Another Monday morning, another fresh week, and another cup of coffee that I'm hoping will magically give me the energy to accomplish all the things on my to-do list. What's Up Wednesday

Be Her: When Our Ideal Self Becomes an Idol

 Ella Langley's "Be Her" got me thinking about something I think a lot of women struggle with- the woman we think we should be.  You know her. She's more disciplined. More confident. More put together. She exercises, keeps the house clean, reads her Bible every morning, never loses her patience, and somehow always has good hair. We tell ourselves, If I could just be her..... And there's nothing wrong with wanting to grow. But what happens when the woman we want to become turns into an idol? Sometimes we become so focused on our ideal self that we forget to ask God who He wants us to become. There's a subtle difference between praying, "Lord, make me more like Christ," and saying, "Lord, help me to become the woman I've decided I need to be." One is surrender.
