A Doozy

Happy Monday friends! What are ya'll doin'?  We are just waiting for this nasty ice storm that is headed our way.  Ice sucks.  It means power outages.  Although we have a generator, it is still not ideal.  And if power goes out at our post office (where our internet comes from) we lose our internet, which means we lose our television, as well as our phone service.  You see why I am dreading this?!

I digress.  Let's talk about the doozy that was all of last week!

Ya'll, I didn't even know it was possible to be as tired as I was.  When I say it took me ALL weekend to recover, it is not an exaggeration.  Having a four-month-old while homeschooling a teenager (who is easily distracted) isn't easy. To add to that, my dad was at an international poultry show in Atlanta, leaving it to me to help out when my mom needed (which I ended up taking her to the ER one night). I was drained when Friday came.  There is much more to the story, but I'll spare you my whining :)

I bundled her up and took her to see the chickens and gather some eggs.
She loved it!

A little photo sesh with this little cutie pie.
She makes it all better.

I had every intention of posting a What's Up Wednesday post, but I never got around to it.  So here are a few pictures of what's been happening lately.

Carl and Trey went duck hunting:

My niece Ellie Kate turned 13:
The Cousin Crew! Happy Birthday, sweet girl :)

Pop, Aunt Kena, and Wrenley

Cowboy Trey and Caleb

I love a good theme party :)

Wrenley and Pappy

Makena found out that she made the Dean's List at School!

Makena didn't come home this weekend because she had a thing with her MBSF group.
She had fun ice skating with her friends.

I made it through that doozy of a week and even got to rest all day on Saturday!

Stay safe and warm if you are in on this ice storm.

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
