Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  It was a pretty great one here on the homestead.

I can finally spill the beans on the surprise that I mentioned in my last post... Makena received the Outstanding Junior Award from the History Department.  She was invited to the academic awards ceremony and we all (Carl, Trey, Carlie, Wrenley, me, and my parents) traveled down to see and surprise her.  She has been so busy this week and has worked so hard all year.  To say I am proud is an understatement.

I love her smile in this picture. She is so happy

The proud parents with our girl :)

All of my babies

Makena and Wrenley

Pop and Nanny are proud of Makena too!

We had to get a group picture at Cracker Barrel afterwards

We have also been spending a few afternoons fishing.  They haven't really been biting yet, but it has been nice getting outdoors and enjoying the warm weather.  I am super pumped to not be freezing all the time!

Carl was the only one to catch on this trip.

Look at my big girl!  She loves Macy...Macy doesn't quite feel the same!

Pop, Carlie, and Wren riding the Gator.  She loved it!

This is his favorite spot in the house.  He sits and watches the kids and dogs play.

Trey wrapped up his final tests last week so he is officially on summer vacation and officially a senior!

Our small chickens are getting so big!
We have 16 small ones now and should be getting tons of eggs in the fall :)

Carl worked all day Saturday and we went to church on Sunday and then to his boss's 90th birthday celebration. It was a pretty busy weekend and didn't offer much time for rest, BUT at least I was with my people :)

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Today I am linking up with  Shay  and  Sheaffer  for a What's Up Wednesday.   It has been a while since I have done this particular link-up.   What We're Eating This Week... This week, we pulled out one of our very favorites: Ritz Cracker Chicken.  We all love this, but it is Trey's very favorite meal. Not only is this recipe super easy, it is also a quick meal with a simple ingredients list: Meat • 4 cups Chicken, cooked Produce • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder • 1/2 tsp Onion powder Canned Goods • 1 (10.5 ounce) can Cream of chicken soup Baking & Spices • 1/8 tsp Black pepper • 1/4 tsp Salt Snacks • 1 1/2 sleeves Ritz crackers Dairy • 1/2 cup Butter • 1 cup Sour cream Mix your chicken along with your other ingredients and spices and then pour them all in a baking dish.  Bake on 350 for about 15 minutes and viola!
