God Blessed Texas!

Sometimes, the best getaways aren't a plane ride away--they're tucked into your own backyard (or just a short drive from it). This past weekend Carl and I packed a bag, put our boots on (not actually), and escaped to Southfork Ranch for a little reset--and a whole lot of Texas charm.

If the name rings a bell, it's probably because Southfork Ranch was the iconic setting of the TV drama, Dallas. Even if you've never seen an episode, stepping onto the property feels like walking into a chapter of Americana. It's sprawling, picturesque, and just the right blend of historic and kitschy.

The iconic white fences, open fields, and horses grazing lazily in the distance made us feel like we had been dropped into a country music video. We were going full tourist mode when we got out of the car and began touring the museum! We also toured the mansion, heard behind-the-scenes stories from Dallas, and even took a few goofy photos pretending we were part of the Ewings. Afterward, we explored the ranch grounds and ended our time with a little shopping in the gift shop (because yes, if you don't get a souvenir, did you actually go?!)

The best part? We weren't in a rush. We had nowhere to be, no schedule to keep. We could just be. And there's something really romantic about that kind of slow pace, especially when it's shared with someone you love.

We ended the day with some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten; it was very authentic. After a great night's sleep and a filling breakfast we headed home to Arkansas.

Bonjour, ya'll
Paris TX

We left Southfork Ranch feeling lighter, closer, and already planning our next mini escape!

If you're looking for a weekend getaway that's romantic, quirky, and deeply Texan, Southfork Ranch might just be the perfect spot. Just remember to bring your sense of adventure--and maybe a cowboy hat.

Much Love,

Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week here on the homestead. Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites :) This week has flown by! On Monday, Wrenley started her new "school year" at daycare. Even though she is in the same school with a lot of the same kids, she moved up and is now officially in PreK! She has had to adjust to new teachers, but seems to like it so far :) She is BeBe's big girl! 💓💓💓 At the beginning of the week, Carl asked if Makena and I wanted to go with him and Trey put some corn and salt blocks out for the deer. Say less, sir! Of course, our answer was yes :) Our chariot and driver Trey and Maggie Hopefully, our hard work pays off! Also came across this guy. He was around 5 ft. long and had 14 rattlers. Don't ask how I know that 😟 We always have a good time when we hang out with our guys, and that is most certainly a favorite! Watching my girl do her thing at work will always be my favorite!...

Friday Favorites

Woo Hoo, it's Friday! Just last week I was talking about how this month is flying by, but this week has moved at a snail's pace! Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites. I have been working on my fitness for about a year now, more seriously in the past 6 months. One thing I've worked on is getting my daily protein in. I tried the built puff protein bars a while ago and they are wonderful, but earlier this week I found the sour puffs, and wow, those things are surprisingly amazing!! I've also taken the new year to do a little more for myself. I started ordering from Nuuly (a monthly clothing subscription). I have found serveral brands that I have wanted to try. There is no pressure to buy anything. You just simply pick 6 items, wear them for the month and send it back and then pick 6 more items (of course, you can purchase if you like). This is a new favorite of mine. At the end of November I bought tickets to the Jason Aldean conce...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites. This is going to be a rapid-fire Friday favorites because it is getting late and I have to wake up extra early to pick up a special little girl :) The said little girl! Nobody ever told me how much you love your grandbabies! Spending time with Wrenley is always one of my favorites💗 Another one of my favorite things is watching Makena present. This time she was on her "home turf". She did a presentation on The Stuttgart Army Airfield for a historical group at our community center. They had their biggest turnout for a meeting because Makena has so many people who support her and love her. We are thankful for everyone who came. Of course she did a great job. I'm always proud of her. It is always a favorite any time I get a video or picture of my grandson, Wesley. I can't wait until June! My gentle giant, Boone, wanting to do his favorite thing: GO OUTSIDE! Makena ...
