We had the most laid-back 4th of July celebration in the history of our family! We were leaving to go on vacation on the 7th, so we were more ready to leave than to have a celebration. We bought very few fireworks. For once we didn't have to worry about some people wanting to go to the river and others wanting to go to the pool because the river was too high and there were no sandbars available...so the pool it was!
We celebrated at lunch with a fish fry (duh). If there is a family function in the summer, you can bet your bottom dollar that fried fish will be involved!
My dad, Trey, and Carl were the main cooks
Tim and Toby (the dog) supervised :)
Wrenley showed us her scooter-ing skills
My big girls
Makena and Miss Wrenley

Elijah and Ellie Kate
Noah was with his girlfriend.
Me and my girls with my mom.
I have no clue where Wrenley was :)
Mi familia :)
All the girls
The boys (minus Noah)
After our yummy lunch, we went out to the pool. I didn't take many pictures because I was enjoying the moment. I was also worried about Makena. She left after lunch to go to a wedding (I know, who gets married on the 4th of July?!) Wrenley had the most fun! She LOVES water balloons, especially throwing them at everyone.
I love the smile on her face.
She is a fun-loving girl who enjoys playing in the pool with her Pop
Everyone went home and rested for a little while, then we met back up at Nanny and Pop's for fireworks around 8:30. Makena made it back just in time!

Sparklers are a must!
The epitome of "Children, don't try this at home"!
Eli and Trey were shooting off some Roman candles before it got dark.
We usually do the big stuff when it's dark.
It was a nice day. The weather was perfect for outdoor fun.
As the final spark fades from the fireworks, let us carry the spirit of Independence Day with us into every ordinary day. Freedom isn't something to celebrate once a year- it's something to live, protect, and share. Whether through kindness to a neighbor, gratitude for those who serve, or standing up for what is right, we honor our country by living with purpose and unity.
Happy Independence Day- may we always cherish the liberty we've been given and work together to preserve it for generations to come.
Much Love,
Beth
