Friday Favorites

 Happy Friday, friends! Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for another Friday Favorites.


This is going to be a rapid-fire Friday favorites because it is getting late and I have to wake up extra early to pick up a special little girl :)

Nobody ever told me how much you love your grandbabies! Spending time with Wrenley is always one of my favorites💗

Another one of my favorite things is watching Makena present. This time she was on her "home turf". She did a presentation on The Stuttgart Army Airfield for a historical group at our community center. They had their biggest turnout for a meeting because Makena has so many people who support her and love her. We are thankful for everyone who came. Of course she did a great job.
I'm always proud of her.

It is always a favorite any time I get a video or picture of my grandson, Wesley.
I can't wait until June!

Makena has been feeding her sourdough starter for a couple of weeks now. Earlier this week she decided to try her hand at make a loaf of bread. It was delicious, especially toasted with ricotta cheese on top! Having adult kids who bake yummy treats is definitely a favorite!



And just like that, another Friday wraps up. This week held a lot of new beginnings. The first week of January typically is. These favorites may seem simple. There were no big trips or purchases, but they are the kinds of things that gently carried me through the days, and for that, I'm grateful.

Aww! How lovely to spend time with your Granddaughter and good job to Makena with the presentation and the bread! That is exciting to see your Grandson!

  Happy Monday, friends! Well, here we are again. What's Up Wednesday

 Happy What's Up Wednesday! Today I am linking up with  Shay  and  Sheaffer  for another "What's Up Wednesday" Let's do this! What we're eating this week... So far this week we have made: Wings on the Pit Boss Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Chops You can't get any easier than wings and chops! Especially when they are on the grill and slow cooker!! What I'm Reminiscing About... Septembers past: September is Trey's birth month. It is also the month that my grandpa died four years ago. This is the year that Papa gave Trey a gun for his birthday. Be Her: When Our Ideal Self Becomes an Idol

 Ella Langley's "Be Her" got me thinking about something I think a lot of women struggle with- the woman we think we should be.  You know her. She's more disciplined. More confident. More put together. She exercises, keeps the house clean, reads her Bible every morning, never loses her patience, and somehow always has good hair. We tell ourselves, If I could just be her..... And there's nothing wrong with wanting to grow. But what happens when the woman we want to become turns into an idol? Sometimes we become so focused on our ideal self that we forget to ask God who He wants us to become. There's a subtle difference between praying, "Lord, make me more like Christ," and saying, "Lord, help me to become the woman I've decided I need to be." One is surrender.
