Hey friends! It's been a minute, so I thought it was time for a little catch-up. Life has been doing that thing where it sprints ahead while I'm still tying my shoes, so let's rewind and chat about what's been going on.
I'm going to go back to the beginning of November. Makena and I made our annual trip to a fly-in at the Air Base and Cold War Museum in Blytheville. It is roughly two and a half hours from our house.
Makena is a natural at presenting her information about our museum's exhibit on the Stuttgart Army Airbase. We were thankful that the Civil Air Patrol let us take shade under the wings of their planes! It was a beautiful sunny day, and without the shade we would have been toast!
We had a fun day :)
There is nothing like the smell of jet fuel first thing in the morning!
That day also happened to be the opening day of the modern gun deer hunting season, so both Carl and Trey were busy hunting (neither of them saw a buck and Trey was told not to shoot a doe). To this day, we are waiting on them to kill one :)
On to the birthday party!
We always have a double birthday party for my mom and Carlie. This year we celebrated a day early because their actual birthday landed on a Wednesday (church). Carl and my dad fried fish, and we had birthday cake and ice cream.
Wrenley had a lot of fun helping her mom open gifts.
Me and my girls 💗
We also went out and saw the Northern Lights. Now, I know there are some conspiracy theories about whether they are really the Northern Lights or whether they are caused by dumping other things into our atmosphere. They sure do make for a pretty sky!

A couple of weeks ago I stretched over my Sunday School table during class and immediately felt a sharp stabbing pain along with a crunch and pop. It was so bad, I could hardly move. I rested the next week and only had a little soreness, then I went to Blytheville with Makena. I lifted a lot of stuff and the next day I sure felt it. It just was not getting any better. I finally made it to the doctor on Thursday. I had an X-ray to rule out a break or fracture. He told me it was a case of costochondritis. It is an inflammation in the cartilage that connects the ribs. He gave me a steroid shot and some medicine to help with the inflammation. That was the first night that I actually slept in weeks! It helped the rib pain AND the bursitis in my hip!
I also pick up my favorite little 3-year-old on Thursdays.
She is the silliest goose!
Look at this little princess💙
It really does feel good to finally feel good again! Carl and I went to the nursing home to see my Grammy on Saturday. It's not my favorite place to go, but I know she needs to see her family. I love seeing her, I just don't love leaving her. I want to bring her back home. I know that she is where she needs to be, but I sure wish she could be home.
We took a few pictures on Sunday. I am saving the family picture for our Christmas cards, but here are a few of the others we snapped.

And this little girl is our sunshine 🌞
Thanks for catching up with me today. Life has been busy, a little messy, and full of those small moments that somehow turn into the big ones. As always, I appreciate you being here--reading, supporting, and sharing this space with me. I'm excited for what's coming next, and I can't wait to bring you along for it.
