Today, I thought I'd share a little peek into what I've been reading--what I loved, what surprised me, and what I'd absolutely recommend curling up with next. Whether you're here for your next favorite book or just love a good book chat, let's jump into my recent reads!
First up is The Mad Wife by Meagan Church.
This book has a blend of historical fiction and psychological suspense. It is set in the perfectly polished world of 1950s suburbia, and follows Lulu Mayfield--the ideal housewife on the outside, but a woman quietly unraveling on the inside. The book shines in its emotional depth and slow-building tension. What makes the story so gripping is how Church keeps you wondering what's real and what's being hidden-- not through shock twists, but through quiet, creeping dread. The pacing is deliberate, the atmosphere rich, and the sense of unease grows with every chapter. This is a must read!
Next on my list is The Lawyer and the Laundress by Christine Hill Suntz.
This is a romance that mixes heart, humor, and just the right amount of emotional tension. The book follows a polished, by-the-book lawyer whose life revolves around clean lines, long hours, and winning arguments. Enter the laundress-- down-to-earth, hardworking, and grounded in a kind and quiet resilience that instantly softens his rigid world. I found this book to be tender, engaging, and unexpectedly uplifting. It's the kind of read that leaves you smiling, cheering for the characters, and maybe believing just a little more in the kind of love that grows in the unlikeliest places.
And my last recommendation is The Comparison Free Life by Heather Creekmore.
If you've ever found yourself scrolling through social media and suddenly feeling "less than", The Comparison Free Life will feel like a deep, comforting exhale. Heather takes on big, uncomfortable issues like envy, insecurity, and measuring ourselves against everyone around us — and unpacks them with honesty, humor, and a whole lot of grace. It's practical without being preachy, relatable, and encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
And that wraps up my stack of reads! Each book brought something a little different. If you've read any of these, I'd love to hear your thoughts, and if you have any recommendations, drop them below!
Happy Reading!
Much Love,
Beth
