Back To School....Ugh

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with breaks during the school year.  It's great to have a break, but equally as awful to have to go back!  It wasn't so bad last year when I only had to worry about the girls, but now I have me and T drag out of the bed!  All the kids at school seemed to be pretty low-key on Monday and on Tuesday I had to substitute in T's room (LONG DAY!) then finally Wednesday came.  I have a new found love for Wednesdays; for most it's just Hump Day but for me it's FRIDAY :)  This Wednesday was special because we celebrated Uncle Dean's retirement from Entergy.  He had been there for 41 years! He got this really cool lamp with a meter on it. Shane and Uncle Dean with the kids.  I checked them out and left around 2:45 so we could make it there by 3.  It was nice and they had made lots of good food for us.  Some of the other linemen told different funny stories about working with him.  The...

Spring Break 2012

I do realize that Spring Break was almost two weeks ago, and I'm just getting around to blogging about it!  We didn't do a whole lot after that busy weekend we had.  It took us about three days to recuperate :)  Here is a summary of what went on during our week off: We slept in everyday! I FINALLY organized the girls junk closet.  It was so bad before that I didn't even want to take a picture of it.....shameful.  You couldn't open the door because they kept throwing stuff in there!  Anyway, it's now cleaned out, and believe it or not, it's still that way :) Worked on Carlie's research paper on Abigail Adams.  She is such an organized person when it comes to her school work.  I'm not sure where she got that from because if you've ever seen my desk, well, you can't see my desk!!  It's a wreck most of the time...and so is Carlie's room, but not her work.  I'm so proud of how much effort she puts into things, just to give th...

Wild And Crazy Weekend

This has been one wild and crazy weekend!  First was our bon-fire Friday night.  Jamie, Cody, and the kids were in town for Lauren and David's wedding so while Jamie was at rehearsal (she played the piano) Cody and the kids, my parents, and my grandparents, Mrs. Cheryl and Luke came over for a bon-fire.  It was so much fun watching all the kids play together and have such a good time. Ellie Kate and Elijah.  That girl LOVED to slide.  Five Little Monkey's sitting at the picnic table. Makena was missing! There she is! Noah was getting lots of practice roasting marshmallows. I think they did the whole package :)  And ate most of them! Mrs. Cheryl and Luke.  Luke had a great time watching all the madness.  I really think he just enjoyed being outside. Look at how tight EK was hanging on to Pop.  I don't think she trusted him. Saturday we had a wedding to attend at 1:00 in the afternoon!  Who has a w...

Once Upon A Time......

There was Tinkerbell, Donkey(from Shrek), and a Princess. Friday was our last day of school before Spring Break and it was also "Fairy Tale Day"at our school.  It started out just being for Mrs. Odom's Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade class, but the whole school ended up participating, only we didn't know the girls would need a costume until Thursday afternoon!  Mom helped me dig in the costumes at the church and we found a green skirt, a pair of wings, the donkey head and tail, and the pretty silver netting that Makena is wearing.  It worked!  They all found something that they liked and were happy with it.  Most of Trey's class. We had lots of princesses, Pocahontas, Hunters, Zorro, Little Boy Blue, Donkey(swinging his tale in the picture), and Captain Hook!  Carlie and Makena's class.  There were two Little Red Riding Hood's, The Tin Man, a chef, two princesses, The Cat In The Hat, a monster of some sort, Tinkerbell, ...

Too Far Behind To Catch Up

Makena was such a big help with Noah!  He only wanted her to help him in the pool Silly Boy! My pretty girl! They were freezing in the elevator! After we played in the pool we headed down Beale Street to eat at Hard Rock Cafe.  It's been a couple of years since we have eaten there and we all enjoyed it!  Noah wasn't at all bothered by all the loud music, I think if anything, it made him feel more at home (the noise, not the rock music!)! As we were about to leave Makena saw the horse and carriages begged for a ride so we   Carl caved and so we had a very nice little carriage ride, even if all 8 of us were in one carriage :)  We learned lots about the history of the Downtown area.  I do have pictures somewhere, I just can't get them to load.  I'm not sure if it is Blogger or my Internet that's giving me such trouble. So now on to the Show! The kids had so much fun going around and getting all kinds of stuff....pen...
