I seem to have a love/hate relationship with breaks during the school year. It's great to have a break, but equally as awful to have to go back! It wasn't so bad last year when I only had to worry about the girls, but now I have me and T drag out of the bed! All the kids at school seemed to be pretty low-key on Monday and on Tuesday I had to substitute in T's room (LONG DAY!) then finally Wednesday came. I have a new found love for Wednesdays; for most it's just Hump Day but for me it's FRIDAY :) This Wednesday was special because we celebrated Uncle Dean's retirement from Entergy. He had been there for 41 years!
He got this really cool lamp with a meter on it.
Shane and Uncle Dean with the kids. I checked them out and left around 2:45 so we could make it there by 3. It was nice and they had made lots of good food for us. Some of the other linemen told different funny stories about working with him.
The kids have an abbreviated week both this Friday (Parent Teacher Conference) and next Friday (Good Friday)! Easter is just around the corner and I'm pleased to say that all the kids have their Easter outfits (thanks Nanny & Pop)! We branched out and did a completely new color (for us anyway)...coral. T's shirt has royal blue and coral stripes and the girls have coral dresses that don't match (we are too old for that) but will look good together and they all three came from three different stores. I've still gotta get Makena some shoes, but everybody else it set! I know in the midst of all these "Come as You Are" churches it might not be the "thing" to have an Easter dress/outfit, but I'm just old school that way :)
In with Carlie's report card, her teacher put this penmanship paper that she had written in February. I cried, because we all know that Carlie isn't over emotional and would probably never have told this to me. Every now and then I think every mother needs some assurance that they are doing a good job.
This is completely random, but I want some of this!! Dr. Pepper homemade ice cream....a mixture of two of my favorite things :) Maybe Carl will make me some for Mother's Day!
Happy Weekend!
Beth
