Driving Lessons At The Farm

Since Carl had to work late Saturday (I call 6:30 on a Sat. late!), he decided he would be the Super Dad he is, and ask the girls if they wanted to go drive at the farm.  I promise he barely got it out of his mouth and they were jumping up and down with excitement!  So we loaded Sam up (he needed some exercise) and headed out.  Trey said that he was going to get out when they started driving, but he didn't.  They both did really well, and I felt a lot better being out in the back 40 than practicing going down the road!  They both have plenty of time to practice, I mean, Carlie won't even be 13 until November, so she still has another year before she can get her permit.  I just want her to be ready!  They agreed to let me take one picture of them while they were driving to "put on the blog"!  It's so funny that they think that way :)  Trey and I were banned to the backseat while the driving lessons were going on, which was fine with me!

She was really concentrating!

She was embarrassed that I took a picture of her!

And here is Trey.  He was highly ticked-off that he didn't get to drive!!
Really, T?!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

Happy January 74th! Ok but really, why does January seem to go on FOREVER?! Today I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites! This was definitely a favorite moment from this week!  Our 47th President, Donald J. Trump! Since Monday was also MLK day, I had the pleasure of watching sweet Wrenley.  Celebrating my niece, Ellie Kate's 15th birthday was definitely a favorite! I also watched Wrenley on Wednesday because she was a little under the weather. She had fun playing and getting lots of ice cream and popsicles! Wrenley will always be my favorite. On this day she wanted to "work" like BeBe. She's so precious, even with her little bedhead! Good Music is a favorite. Play some old-school country music and we are golden :) My favorite meal this week. It seems like forever since I made a home-cooked meal! Cajun baked chicken, corn (because Trey loves corn), broccoli, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and rolls were on the menu, and every...
