Friday Fun and More!

We started off our Friday by going to the kids' Open House at School!  It was really exciting because Makena had a new teacher for us to meet :)  Trey and Carlie still had the same teacher from last year, but they were excited too!
When we got home we rested and played the Wii for a while, then decided we would have a Back to School pizza party (just for our family).  Carlie made the cake and Makena frosted it.
It might not have been the prettiest, but it was good!

For dinner, we also decided to make some homemade pizzas.
Again, they were not so pretty, but tasted great!

Since the weather was so nice and cool, we decided to go out and have a bonfire and roast some marshmallows.  After watching Duck Dynasty a little too much, Trey was wanting to make some Mallow Dogs, but thankfully we didn't have any hot dog buns!
Trey with his marshmallow, stick, and wearing his headlight.
He was having a blast!

Trey and Makena trying to get their marshmallows the desired "golden" color.
Usually they end up looking like ash!
Carlie was playing on the swing just before dark.
Yes, she had a jacket on :)

It was a fun night!  The mosquitoes did end up getting too bad around 9:30 or so, so we had to go in, but the kids were tired and ready to get baths and into bed by that time anyway. I guess we were rushing things a little bit!
Saturday was a day of accomplishment inside the house.  I cleaned out closets and got everybody's clothes together and ready for next week along with my regular cleaning.  I also helped the girls clean their room, and man did they need help!  Then the girls and I went to another baby shower and after the shower they went shopping with Nanny.
Meanwhile, Carl and Trey helped Pop mow around the pool and then they changed the 4 wheeler from green to RED!  That's my favorite :)
Shines up pretty good!

It was another fun family weekend!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
