Let's Go To The Zoo!

Well, I'm finally back from the dead.  I'm not sure exactly what illness I actually had, but I was sick, no SICK for a good 8 days!  I mean I only got out of the house to take the kids to school and pick them up.  No church, no work, no ballgames. I went to the doctor Monday and he just gave me some medicine and when  I was not better on Wednesday he gave me an antibiotic.  I really thought I was going to die.  I even wrote Carl a note about how to take care of things in case I died....it was bad. Thankfully, I started feeling better Friday afternoon :)  So much better in fact, that we planned a Saturday trip to the zoo.
It was such a beautiful day.  The sun was shining and the temps were just warm enough to be comfortable.
You think pictures are hard to get when your kids are little,
well let me tell you, it doesn't get any better.  When they are 13, 11, and 8 you have to threaten them to get one!
I think I still look pale, but a least I was able to get out of this house!

We always take a picture in the bird house.  It's really stinky, but very pretty!

My little gardener with his sunflowers!
Completely forced!!

We had a great family day.  I'm so glad to be better and to be out with the living again, and despite the fact that I'm super tired and have a slight fever again, I am looking forward to being back in church tomorrow!

Thank you Lord for this beautiful day and for my awesome family!

Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
