The Ditchers

Today we (I) decided that we just need a break from school.  I don't work on Thursday's, so we took Nanny with us and went to Pine Bluff.  Now generally if we go shopping we head to Little Rock, but we were specifically looking for Carlie an Easter dress so I thought Pine Bluff would do.  Yes, I hear the no frock thing is in this year, but I am very traditional and feel there is absolutely nothing wrong with dressing up for Easter.  I don't judge people who decide not to, but who doesn't look for a reason to buy new clothes and dress up!
So we did end up find Carlie a dress at Dillard's.  It is solid white lace.  Plain and simple.  Makena will be wearing something that I always said my kids wouldn't wear for Easter.....black and white.  It isn't always easy shopping for her, so when we find something that looks great and she likes, we get it, no matter what color it is.  So I have this vision of putting Trey and Carl in yellow shirts.  We'll see how it all turns out.  We have a back-up dress for Makena :)
After dinner we went with Carl out to the farm to check his deer camera and try out the new backhoe!  Trey loved it.  The girls and I sat in the truck :)
When those tires lifted off the ground, his face lit up!

The sun was really bright!

He just looks so big coming down from there!

After we left the farm we went to Nanny and Pop's house to visit with my sister and her kids.  They didn't get to play for a real long time, but had a blast walking to the river and playing Frisbee and watching Eli play in the mud.  I mean in.the.mud.  He was loving it!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
