Trey, Atticus, and Braden
We learned about being safe with electricity.
They got to wear some of the gloves that linemen use when fixing and working with electricity.
We also learned about boating safety.
Trey got to be a demonstrator :)
He liked the attention.
This was our gun safety instructor.
He was a little bit of a grouch. Party pooper!!
Here we learned about germs. It was fittingly named, "Germ City".
Trey and the other kids learning about tractor and lawnmower safety.
Can you see Bubba in the background? The main lesson here was "Don't be a Bubba"! Pay attention when you're around machinery.
Here was our fire safety instructor. I didn't get to watch it because they piled the whole group in that little trailer for the lecture and then filled it with "smoke" and let them climb out of the back window.
I guess you would call this class animal safety. The kiddos got to handle a baby alligator and touch some snakes. It wasn't really my favorite, but they all seemed to like it.
I caught Trey touching the alligator.
Well, folks I made it through my last Farm Safety Day! I have been to it will all three of my kids over a period of five years and not a lot has changed! Trey was however, the only one that has been homeschooled. We signed up and went all on our own and they put us in a group with the private school kids, so Trey got to be with some of his buddies from school. There are three main private schools in the area, and two of them seem to have nice kids. There is one in the area (that will remain nameless) whose kids were so snobbish....and it is supposed to be a Christian School! If you're kids are as mean to others as I saw them be, you got some work to do. I am extremely glad that Trey won't have to deal with that everyday.
Maybe I was just tired, maybe I'm getting old, but one thing I know for sure, I am glad that I do not have to go back to one of these!!!
It was fun to spend a day with Trey!
Much Love,
Beth
