Happy Birthday & Get Well Soon, Pop!

We celebrated my dad's 59th birthday on Sunday. We went to church, went swimming, went back to church, then drove ro Stuttgart to eat Mexican with the family.

We did not use 59 candles,  but look at the flames!!

He was serenaded my the Mexican waiters who later shoved ice cream up his nose!!
The next day Carl, the kids, and I left for a little getaway and my Dad was preparing for knee surgery on Wednesday. I didnt really want to miss it, but I knew it was minor and my Mom said to go because she could handle it.
Ha!! FAMOUS LAST WORDS!!!!
I called and and talked to them before he went back to have have the surgery and my Mom sent me this picture:
He was getting ready.
I tallked to her about 20 minutes later and she was freaking out because the doctor came in and told her that he had operated on the wrong knee!!! I really thought she was joking, but it was no joke at all!! Long story short, he got both knees done😒😒😒
He says it was for free but we will see. He is such an honest guy. He doesn't believe in suing but doesn't think he or his insurance should be paying anything at all!!
Here is the after picture she sent me:
Drugs make him look cray cray!!
I am so glad that he is okay.

He is super sore as of today, but that is to be expected with two post-surgery knees!!

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
