Back To School Organization & Shopping

Whew, what a week so far! I have been doing my best trying to get my house organized because next Monday we start back to school!!
I spent most of the day Monday cleaning out cabinets and getting rid of junk. Ya'll, I threw away a garbage sack full of cups and lids that had no cups or containers to match... for real. I also finally decided to part with the sandwich maker that Carl and I got for a shower gift over 18 years ago...nobody has used it in years, so it had to go. Now we can actually open cabinets without things falling on us! Mission accomplished😊
I also worked on our entry way wall. I have been wanting to do a collage wall so I just threw caution to the wind and did it. It turned out pretty well considering I didn't have a lot of stuff to work with.

We also had revival this week which meant we ate at the church 2 of the 3 nights. I'm all for potluck and fellowship but we are talking two nights plus we had it Sunday for lunch. I feel like I spent a small fortune on groceries this week! Our evangelist did a great job of bringing the message both of the nights I got to hear. I had to take Makena home Monday night because she was feeling bad and had a low grade fever.
The girls after church on Sunday.

I was sick with a BAD headache on Tuesday...like I pretty much spent the whole day in bed! Amazingly enough it went away around 6, so I went to church😇
Wednesday we had yet another funeral to go to. Carl's boss's wife passed away suddenly on Saturday night. She was always so kind to our family. She sent rolls and chocolate cakes home with Carl and was always sure that the kids got special cards from her and Mr. Don for Christmas. The service was beautiful and the salvation message was clear for all. The preacher stated that we could have hope in grieving. I thought of the song, "With Hope" by Steven Curtis Chapman...beautiful lyrics..look it up if you have never heard it (it is an older song).
Today the kids and I headed to Little Rock to grab a few things. People look at me like a crazy person when I tell them that my kids need school clothes, even though they are homeschooled! Everybody outgrows things, and we don't always just sit around in our PJ's! Trey is growing like a weed so most of his jeans are getting too short and he has to have a new pair of soccer cleats. Makena wanted to look for a couple of things at a store called Torrid. The clothes are not cheap, but we found some good sales 😊 Carlie finally found a planner that she likes along with some jeans, a pullover (she freezes all of the time), a pair of shorts, make-up, and smelly stuff for her car at Bath and Body.

We had a yummy lunch at TGIFridays

He really didn't want to take a picture with me but I insisted and NOBODY tells Mama "no"!

Trey has been begging me for a map but I haven't been able to find one in town. I almost ordered him one from Amazon last week. I found this at target today for $3.99!!

Who knows what Friday and the weekend will hold. Hopefully grocery shopping and maybe we can spend some time at the river and pool. Carl has been having terrible headaches for the past few weeks and I keep trying to get him to go to the doctor before he gets busy but my attempts have not been successful. We are praying that he feels good this weekend🤔🤔

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
