Happy Father's Day!

Summer is my favorite season for so many reasons: warm (HOT) temps, family vacations, NO SCHOOL, my birthday, and of course Mother's Day and Father's Day!
I have had the privilege of having some of the greatest dads ever in my life. I'll start with my grandfathers: Papa and Papaw.

This is my Papa. He is my mom's dad and has always held a very active role in my life. He is a hard worker, a great provider for his family, and a Godly man. He loves us all well!

This is my Papaw. Somedays it is still hard to believe he is gone. He was always active in my life also. Unlike Papa, we didn't go to church together, or even believe the same  (religion), but we respected the differences and I always knew that he loved me. They say that hindsight is 20/20 and  there are so many things I wish I had asked him. So many stories I wish had been told. He was a man of his word. I miss him a lot, but I am thankful for the time I got to spend with him. I regret not seeing him more but I can't change that now. He was a good father and grandfather.

Next is my dad. He is pretty special to me. He is a great spiritual leader. I love sitting in his Sunday School class and learning from him. He has been a wonderful example for my kids also. They love Pop as much as I do!

And last but not least is my Carl. God love him, he works hard for us. When we first got married we agreed that when we had kids, I would stay home. Honestly, that was all I really wanted to do...be a mom(the best one I could be). We knew it wouldn't be the easy making it on one income but we have always done it. This is a heavy burden for him to bear but he keeps on going, always thinking of us first. He has definitely changed his share of diapers, brushed and braided the girls hair many times, and played with the kids for hours upon end. He is patient (more than me!), loving, and a great example for the kids. We love him bunches!!

Happy Father's Day!!

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
