Back To School 2018

Wow, this summer really did fly by! We spent lots of time at the river, pool, and finally the beach. Because we ordered our curriculum a few weeks late we put our start date off a week later than we normally would have...and those appointments that I talked about in my previous post. Here are a few pictures of our weekend before back to school:
Makena wanted her desk painted, so of course we waited until 4 days before school started to do it!

Grammy made the most delicious fried apple pies!

Grammy also fixed us breakfast for dinner one night.
Of course it was delicious!  She loves our family well and we are thankful to have her and Papa actively in the lives of our children.

We also went to the river with my parents and the Simpson kiddos.
The boys could have spent many more hours building things in the sand.

We went to visit Carl's parents in Wynne and got to meet his great-nephew for the first time.  He is the sweetest little baby.

Carlie and baby Mattox

Makena Faith and baby Mattox

Trey Landon and baby Mattox
He may or may not have tooted in Trey's hand!

Makena and Trey are bowling in the youth scholarship league on Saturday mornings. I am a little sad that Carlie isn't bowling but she will be a busy lady to say the least!
Makena was pleased with her first session.

Trey did great also!

Homeschool planner is ready for many plans!

Carlie Erin is a high school senior and a part-time college student this year! She is also working three days a week.

Makena Faith is a junior this year.  She loves playing her instruments and all things Harry Potter.

Trey Landon is in the 7th grade now!  He would be in the 8th but his birthday is late, so he is one of the tallest 7th graders I know!  He is taller than I am and is catching up with Makena and Carl quickly.

Makena still loves her Razorback also!
She got it from her mama, wink wink!

I am no photographer, but I am pretty proud of this picture..and this girl!

We have had a great start to what we hope and pray, is a great year!

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

Happy January 74th! Ok but really, why does January seem to go on FOREVER?! Today I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites! This was definitely a favorite moment from this week!  Our 47th President, Donald J. Trump! Since Monday was also MLK day, I had the pleasure of watching sweet Wrenley.  Celebrating my niece, Ellie Kate's 15th birthday was definitely a favorite! I also watched Wrenley on Wednesday because she was a little under the weather. She had fun playing and getting lots of ice cream and popsicles! Wrenley will always be my favorite. On this day she wanted to "work" like BeBe. She's so precious, even with her little bedhead! Good Music is a favorite. Play some old-school country music and we are golden :) My favorite meal this week. It seems like forever since I made a home-cooked meal! Cajun baked chicken, corn (because Trey loves corn), broccoli, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and rolls were on the menu, and every...
