Choosing Hope When the Future Feels Uncertain

Life has a way of surprising us--sometimes with joy, other times with challenges we never saw coming. The truth is, none of us knows what tomorrow holds, and at times, that uncertainty can feel heavy. But in the middle of the unknown, there is one thing we can choose: hope.

Hope isn't just wishful thinking. When the future feels shaky, hope can sound like a fragile word. But biblical hope is not about crossing our fingers and wishing for the best--it's about anchoring ourselves in the promises of God. Hebrews 6:19 calls hope "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure".  Even when life feels stormy, that anchor keeps us steady.

Right now, many farmers are feeling the weight of uncertainty. Lack of profit, export difficulties, and rising costs, have left some wondering how they'll make it. For families who depend on the land, each day brings new worries--will there be enough money to keep going? While there is such concern, in the midst of the struggle, there are stories of faith. I've heard about a farmer who spoke at a politically hosted meeting concerning farmers, state "The Lord gave me this land, He can provide again. I believe He is still in control".  That is what choosing hope looks like — it doesn't erase the struggle or the need for help, but it plants a seed of faith in the midst of the hardship.

Remember God's faithfulness. Reflect on past seasons where He has carried you through. Replace "What if' everything falls apart?" with "What if God shows up in ways I can't imagine?". Whether it's scripture, worship, or wise council, let encouragement be louder than fear. When we choose hope, we aren't denying reality--we're choosing to believe that God is greater than what we see right now. Hope lifts our eyes from the chaos and puts them back on the One who holds tomorrow. And in that place, we find peace, strength, and even joy while we wait.

If you're walking through uncertainty today--whether in finances, family, or faith--know this: you don't have to have all of the answers. you only need to hold on to the God who does. Choose hope, even if it feels small. It's enough, because He is enough.

Much Love,

Beth

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

Happy January 74th! Ok but really, why does January seem to go on FOREVER?! Today I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites! This was definitely a favorite moment from this week!  Our 47th President, Donald J. Trump! Since Monday was also MLK day, I had the pleasure of watching sweet Wrenley.  Celebrating my niece, Ellie Kate's 15th birthday was definitely a favorite! I also watched Wrenley on Wednesday because she was a little under the weather. She had fun playing and getting lots of ice cream and popsicles! Wrenley will always be my favorite. On this day she wanted to "work" like BeBe. She's so precious, even with her little bedhead! Good Music is a favorite. Play some old-school country music and we are golden :) My favorite meal this week. It seems like forever since I made a home-cooked meal! Cajun baked chicken, corn (because Trey loves corn), broccoli, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and rolls were on the menu, and every...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week here on the homestead. Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites :) This week has flown by! On Monday, Wrenley started her new "school year" at daycare. Even though she is in the same school with a lot of the same kids, she moved up and is now officially in PreK! She has had to adjust to new teachers, but seems to like it so far :) She is BeBe's big girl! 💓💓💓 At the beginning of the week, Carl asked if Makena and I wanted to go with him and Trey put some corn and salt blocks out for the deer. Say less, sir! Of course, our answer was yes :) Our chariot and driver Trey and Maggie Hopefully, our hard work pays off! Also came across this guy. He was around 5 ft. long and had 14 rattlers. Don't ask how I know that 😟 We always have a good time when we hang out with our guys, and that is most certainly a favorite! Watching my girl do her thing at work will always be my favorite!...
