There's something about April that feels like a quiet invitation to start again. The trees begin to bud, the flowers push their way up through the soil, and the days stretch a little longer. After months of gray skies and bare branches, the world slowly wakes up. Spring doesn't rush in loudly-- it arrives gently, one bloom at a time.
It reminds me that God often works the same way in our lives. Sometimes we expect big, dramatic change. We think growth has to look impressive or immediate. But often the Lord works in small, steady ways-- softening our hearts, renewing our prospective, and giving us the courage to begin again.
April also points our hearts toward Easter, the greatest reminder that God is in the business of renewal. When Jesus went to the cross, it looked like the end of the story. Hope seemed buried along with Him. But three days later, the stone rolled away and life stepped out of the tomb. What looked like defeat became the greatest victory the world has ever known. That truth still echoes into our everyday lives. The areas that feel dry, tired, or discouraged are not beyond God's ability to revive. The mistakes we wish we could redo are not bigger than His grace. The seasons that feel heavy can still give way to something new. Scripture reminds us: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
April is a beautiful reminder that God specializes in making things new.
New mercy.
New strength.
New beginnings.
Just like earth slowly turns green again, our hearts can be refreshed when we stay close to Him. So as this new month unfolds, take time to notice the small signs of life around you-- the budding trees, the warm sunlight, the fresh air of a spring morning. Let them remind you that the God who renews the earth each year is also faithfully renewing His people. And sometimes the most faithful step is to start again.
Much Love,
Beth
