Anxiously Awaiting Christmas....

We are really ready for Christmas around here.  The kids are at the stage of bouncing off the walls!!  The girls will have their last day of school tomorrow.  They only go a half a day and they also have a Christmas party, so I'm sure they aren't planning on doing much.  They will have their Christmas Program tomorrow night and I can't wait to see it all come together because I have been watching them practice for a couple of weeks now.  I will definitely be posting some pictures of all the festivities :)  Only 9 more days!!

First Basketball Game

Carlie is the one with the ball (#15) and Makena is #40, with her hands up in the air. Carlie was about to get the ball from Hayley (aka Flash) The Lady (Pee-Wee) Mustangs Well we finally got to play our first pee-wee basketball game tonight against another private school in Stuttgart.  Needless to say we lost, but the girls said they had a lot of fun.  Both Carlie and Makena did really well and Carlie even made a basket!! We only scored 8 points, so that was really good for us :)   There were a lot of valuable lessons to be learned from the game tonight, by both the girls who played and the parents of the kids.  I'm so glad that my kids are in the school that they are in, and that the focus at our school is on the things that really matter in life...not material things.  I'll leave it there. We already have a lot planned this week....game tonight, work and basketball practice tomorrow, Discovery Christmas party on Wednesday, Thursday I...

100 Posts This Year!!

I am very proud to say that I have made 100 blog entries this year!!  Now I know compared to some blogs that isn't all that many, but it is the most I've blogged in a year since I started in 2008! I wish I could say that I was doing some kind of give away or something celebrating, but I'm not.  Instead you just get more pictures!! The way it supposed to look..... the way ours looked! It didn't matter to them, they were proud of theirs :) Every year (for the past 2 years) when Carl goes to deer camp in December we decorate a gingerbread house.  It is a huge mess and it never turns out the way it looks on the box, but the kids really enjoy it.  And even though it's messy we have fun :)   *** One year I'm going to do my own and try to make it look like the box!!

A Visit With Santa

On Friday Carl and I took Trey with us shopping in Little Rock.  He really is a pretty good little shopper, especially if he knows that he will get to sit on Santa's lap!!  We saved that for right after we were done eating, so during lunch we were talking about what he was going to ask for and he said most of his usual stuff:  trucks, blocks, tractors, etc.  So you can imagine our surprise when he hopped on Santa's lap and told him, without skipping a beat, that he wanted a motorcycle!!  Never once has he mentioned to us that he wanted a motorcycle...NEVER.  After he got down and we got our pictures, I told him that he might not get a real motorcycle, maybe a bike that looked like one, but not a real one.  He looked at me and matter-of-factly said, "Santa said it would be under the tree"!  Thanks a lot Santa!!

A Christmas Wonderland

Ready to Party!! Maxee and Makena posing by one of Aunt Kat's trees This one is the bird tree, I think. She had all kinds of bird ornaments on it.. even some little nests!  Trey kept wanting to get the mini eggs out of them. We loved this cowboy snowman! I also really liked the Patriotic tree. She had lots of flag ornaments, but there were also some special ornaments made of pictures of family members who have served in our Armed Forces. The first time that my kids went to Aunt Kat's house, a few years ago, this was Trey's all time favorite tree because of Santa in the big truck. He still says this is his favorite tree :) On Saturday we went to Sheridan to my great aunt and uncle's house for our first Christmas Party of the year!  The special thing about her house is that she decorates every single room with a tree and/or some kind of Christmas decor.  It isn't tacky, but very well thought out and all the trees are themed.  She even has Christmas toilet paper i...

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

This is Trey's Nativity set in his room.  He was so excited to put it up and he loves playing with all the people. Makena's Nutcrackers.  She has just started collecting them this past year.  The one with the coconut drink in his had is named Kenny!!  I don't know where she got that from, but the girl LOVES these things! This has been Trey's favorite book for a while now.  He goes around singing the song to it all the time...he even did this in the summer!  His favorite part is "Five Golden Retrievers" and of course, "And A Poodle In a Dog House"!!  It's a very cute book. We have started decorating for Christmas around the Munger house.  It started last Saturday (I think...my days were all off last week!) when we got the tree out of storage and spent most of the day trying to get it to look right (one day I'll splurge on a new one!) and decorating the rest of the inside.  Sunday after church Carl and I worked on the outside...we ...

Carl's Deer

I just realized that I posted two pictures of the same deer....oops!! I'll just tell you about the other one!!  Since all five of us were home all week long, Carl decided that he would do a little hunting to get out of the house.  On Tuesday he left around 12:30 or 1:00 and was back home by 2:00 with a nice 8 point--the one that I forgot the picture of.  Today he left around 1:30 and called me at 3:30 and said that he had got the big 11 point that he has been seeing for the past few weeks!! He was so excited because he has never killed one that big at the farm :)  I think he has had a pretty good week at home, but I'm sure he's ready to get back to work!!  We'll be having deer steak soon :)
