Weekend Getaway

We had a great weekend getaway to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri.  Branson, Missouri to be exact. With our two youngest kids working full-time now, we decided that a full-on vacation just wouldn't be in the cards.  Makena just started her job so she has no PTO or vacation as of now, and Trey is pretty busy at work right now trying to get a combine ready for a local farmer (rice harvest is right around the corner!).  This just worked best for this year. The mountains are beautiful, but I think I'm more of a flat-land girlie! It was also Makena's birthday weekend (so she got off on her birthday, which just happened to be on a Saturday!) Our birthday girl turned 22! On her birthday we spent the day at Silver Dollar City. If you know Makena, you know that she loves her a good rollercoaster! We rode them all!  And walked for miles and miles.  Family Fun at its finest! Had to get our picture with the World's Largest Soup Can :) She was wearing her birthday pin that t...

Let Freedom Ring!

Happy Independence Day, friends! We had a pretty great day even though it wasn't a typical 4th of July for us.  Carl worked first thing in the morning then mowed the yard. I packed our lunch and we went to the river (in 2 boats and 1 jet ski) for 3 people (insert eye roll) around 11.  Makena, aka Malibu Barbie on her jet ski Trey, aka Rowdy Rooster, with his boat Me and my love Makena just chillin' The sandbar was really crowded but we came early enough to find a good spot. Headed back to the landing so someone can go check rice water. Such a kill joy :( We actually had to go back home anyway so we could get ready for the party at our house. Makena, Wrenley, and Pop enjoying their yummy desserts! She loves dessert and her Aunt "Ky" Carlie and Caleb, ready to light fireworks! Me and Wrenley were counting down for them to light sparklers I know it wasn't dark, but she was getting tired and we were about to get eaten up by mosquitos. Carlie and Trey with their spark...

SHINE! VBS 2024

Wrenley was so excited to ride the train, especially since Trey was driving it! Makena Faith and Elijah Garrett The two middle babies of their families Wrenley really wanted BeBe (me) but since I was leading the music, she settled for Pappy! Trey was pulling the train with the Gator and the help of his buddy, Bailey Popcorn! Get your popcorn!! My mom had fun dressing up You have to pull out all of the stops when doing music with 2-year-olds! Maracas for the win! Makena was captivating her audience. She loved VBS for the most part Two cute donkeys! Now that's more like it! My helper for the week Wrenley was absolutely fascinated with this baby! She didn't want to let her go. The cutest class ever :) It was a very fun, exhausting week! We had movie theme going this week.  There were a total of 5 movies: a mystery (at the house of Dagon), a romance (Ruth and Boaz), a comedy (the talking donkey), an action (David and Goliath), and a musical (the leaping king (David)). I think ov...

Happy Father's Day

Today we did things a little different for Father's Day. We had burgers at our house, and we invited my immediate family.  Usually, my parents have it at their house but I decided to give them a little break.   My Dad: My daddy and his girls He has always been such a good daddy to his girls, always giving us everything we needed and more.  And most importantly, he has always led by example.  I thank God every day for him! My Carl: Carl and the kids, son-in-law, and grand baby Always putting his family first and himself last. Someone who always tries to fill the needs and provide. I have so much love and respect for this man and all that he does for us. I could not be more grateful for the father he has been to our children.  He has always shown such love and dedication. He has always given all he's got.  Always shown up.  Always done his best. Always loved with all of his heart.  He continues to try every day no matter the obstacles. Th...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
