Spring Break Days 4,5, & 6

Well, I got behind on blogging about our Spring Break partly because we didn't do much and partly because I started getting sick Thursday night.  I had felt it start coming on Wednesday night, but I just tried not to think about it.  The kids stayed the night with my mom and dad on Wednesday night, so after I picked them up on Thursday we went to town to buy groceries.  At this point I my throat was killing me, but I wasn't going to give into it just yet!  Thursday afternoon we went outside and played for a while then Grammy came to pick the kids up to stay the night with her!  I know, two nights in a row!!  Too bad that I felt awful by the time Carl got home at 7:00.  We did get to eat together, just in the living room while I was perched on the couch!  Friday wasn't much different.  It was freezing outside so the kids couldn't really get out and I couldn't take them out to play.  We did end up going into town to pick up my contact solution that I had forgotten to get earlier and of course stop by Sonic...it was Happy Hour!!  That chocolate shake felt awesome on my sore throat.
Thankfully Carl didn't have to work long today because it rained.  They probably could have worked most of the day, but decided they would wait until Monday.  Carlie woke up with a sore throat this morning :(  Maybe she'll feel better before Monday.  We have had to work on her My State Notebook project for History (last minute of course!!).  About five minutes into the project (she was already 75 % done) we realized that she needed a picture of the Arkansas County Courthouse!  I guess we'll be making a trip into town later for that !!  I know, we should have done it earlier, but I do best on a deadline....probably not a good habit to pass onto my kids though.
Oh, before I forget, could you please pray for our pastor's son, Luke.  He has cerebral palsy and was med flighted to ACH on Thursday afternoon.  As of right now, they aren't sure what is the matter with him, but are looking at him coming home maybe on Monday.  I know any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

Happy January 74th! Ok but really, why does January seem to go on FOREVER?! Today I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites! This was definitely a favorite moment from this week!  Our 47th President, Donald J. Trump! Since Monday was also MLK day, I had the pleasure of watching sweet Wrenley.  Celebrating my niece, Ellie Kate's 15th birthday was definitely a favorite! I also watched Wrenley on Wednesday because she was a little under the weather. She had fun playing and getting lots of ice cream and popsicles! Wrenley will always be my favorite. On this day she wanted to "work" like BeBe. She's so precious, even with her little bedhead! Good Music is a favorite. Play some old-school country music and we are golden :) My favorite meal this week. It seems like forever since I made a home-cooked meal! Cajun baked chicken, corn (because Trey loves corn), broccoli, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and rolls were on the menu, and every...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week here on the homestead. Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites :) This week has flown by! On Monday, Wrenley started her new "school year" at daycare. Even though she is in the same school with a lot of the same kids, she moved up and is now officially in PreK! She has had to adjust to new teachers, but seems to like it so far :) She is BeBe's big girl! 💓💓💓 At the beginning of the week, Carl asked if Makena and I wanted to go with him and Trey put some corn and salt blocks out for the deer. Say less, sir! Of course, our answer was yes :) Our chariot and driver Trey and Maggie Hopefully, our hard work pays off! Also came across this guy. He was around 5 ft. long and had 14 rattlers. Don't ask how I know that 😟 We always have a good time when we hang out with our guys, and that is most certainly a favorite! Watching my girl do her thing at work will always be my favorite!...
