What I'm Thankful For Day 10 & Our Saturday

Today I am thankful for my sister, Jamie.  Jamie and I used to be super close.  I mean, you don't move around as much as we did when we were younger and not be close!  When we didn't have anyone else, we always had each other.  Over the years, life happened.  We both got married, had kids and lives of our own.  She moved....and move....and moved (seriously I could go on and on) and now we don't get to see each other that much.  I am thankful for all the good times that we've had and I'm also thankful that she gave me two nephews and a niece. I guess while I'm at it, I should say that I'm thankful for Cody too!  Ya'll are awesome and I love you all!

This morning Carlie got up and went shopping with my mom for her birthday!  Monday is the day, but since it is a school day they did their celebrating today.  They shopped and ate out and Carlie came home the happiest girl in the world!

Today was also opening day of gun season.   I am telling you deer hunting is THE BOMB in this house!  Everybody loves it, except me :)  Carl went to his spot at the farm both this morning and this afternoon and didn't see any deer but he did see some hogs.  These hogs have made the biggest mess you have ever seen and are eating all his deer food, so he shot one.
Bacon, Ham bone, Pork chop.....I just call him UGLY or STINKY.
One down in the battle against the hogs!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
