Mother's Day 2014

Another successful Mother's Day is in the books! I, personally, had the best one so far! Carl was able to be home all weekend and we even got our laundry room project completed :) My kids and Mom showered me with lots of goodies, too!

These are a few of the things I got. My sweet Momma got me a pair of leopard Chacos, Makena got me a pretty pitcher, Trey got me some pretty earrings and Carlie got me some gray towels to go with my gray and yellow bathroom redo (another small project!)

My laundry area! I never think of taking a before picture, but it was just an ugly area separated by pretty red (my favorite color) doors. I kept the doors closed most of the time to hide the ugly!

Saturday morning we got up and went to buy some seeds so we could plant the garden. The girls and I stopped to take a selfie :)

I ended up coming home with this pretty hanging plant! It was another gift from Carl. He also got me a lounge chair for the back porch as well as a pretty skirt.

We had a cookout at our house on Saturday for my Mom. My sister and her kids were down, so it was a perfect time to take a picture with my mom and all of the girls.

I had to take a picture of my dad and his boys too!
It was pretty much a perfect weekend!

When I describe my mother I feel like I say the same thing every year. But she really is the kindest, most unselfish person I know. She does so much for my family, and like it is in most families, she is the glue that holds us together. I love her more than she will know and way more than I could ever show.

I love these three awesome kids. They are the best kids in the world. I am truly blessed to be called their "Mom".

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
