The Bright Eyed Brunette

Since I had two of my people recovering from the flu, we had a pretty low-key weekend. We went out to eat Chinese, went shopping, and celebrated Noah's 8th Birthday a little early...and of course went to church :) I am so thankful that we got to spend the weekend together. I do love them all!

On January 24th we headed to Little Rock for the Florida Georgia Line concert. Carlie started begging for tickets around her birthday even though they didn't go on sale until the beginning of Dec.! Then the other kids decided that they may want to go, so we all went:) We checked in our hotel around 3:30, got dressed, then headed down to the River Market to eat at Gusano's. Trey was so excited he could hardly eat. He was just ready to go! They had the hotel all decorated for Valentine's Day. My three monkeys were ready for the show! My favorite part was when Thomas Rhett sang a cover of Uptown Funk. My Mom took this picture at our school's Thanksgiving Banquet and she just now posted it! Carlie and Katelyn. I'm so glad they have become friends over the past couple of years. She is a sweetheart. We had Trey at the clinic today. I was afraid that he had the flu. Thankfully, it wasn't the flu or strep. Hopefully he gets better sooner than later. We all loaded up and headed down to Hot Springs on MLK Day for Ellie Kate's 5th Birthday. Her actual birthday was on Tuesday, but we had to get together when everybody was out of school/work. She wanted a cowgirl party again! She also told us she wants one next year too! Noah and Trey had the best time hanging out all day long. They are best friends! We had a mini party that day. My parents and the five of us came. We had pizza and cake and ice cream. She was a happy girl :) She loves Makena Eli kinda does his own thing. And he's perfectly happy! After I got Noah and Eli a bow and arrow set for Christmas, Ellie told me that she wanted me to get her a purple one for her birthday; so I did. She was so excited about it. We went over to the church gym to play and she had to bring her bow. It's pretty cool that it lights up! It was a long day away from home, but very worth it!

My three Monkeys My kids were glad to go back to school and see their friends Trey, with his friends Makena got her braces off in December and she just got contacts this week! For some reason this has seemed like the LONGEST month ever! We all know that I'm not really a winter person, so maybe I'm jus impatiently waiting for Spring (Summer, really)! We've been staying plenty busy with basketball games/practices, studying for exams, and church. We got report cards on Monday, and I'm just going to take a minute to brag on my kids. We eventually made our way to the hot tub We were perfectly warm until we got out...it got cold FAST! We forgot to buy fireworks! These sparklers were left-overs from July 4th! We moved the party inside to warm-up. So we played some games, watch Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and finished off the Sparkling White Grape Juice:) I had two that barely made it until 12, but they did it! Happy New Year from our family!

Monday night our Arkansas Razorbacks played Texas in the Advocare Texas Bowl. What kind of fans would we be if we didn't have a Texas Bowl party?! Trey made a little concession stand We also fixed some party food Go Hogs, Beat Texas!! And beat Texas we did! A score of 31-7 was the end result. Way to end the season Hogs!
