Let It Snow and More!

We finally got snow! It wasn't very much, but it is always exciting to wake up to white surroundings. The school districts around us were closed so we had an abbreviated school day here at Munger Academy:) Snow Selfie! We really only got a good dusting of snow mixed with sleet. It was around 60 degrees yesterday morning😩 Carlie wanted to go around the community and take pictures, so her Daddy was her driver and photographer.  A couple of weeks ago Makena played the guitar at church but I forgot to post this picture.  Trey loves his hoverboard I couldn't go without posting a picture of my love 😍😍 We have had a pretty good month so far. We are chugging along with our schooling and trying to decide if anyone wants to enter the Homeschool Science Fair in March. Carl still hasn't gone back to work. We have enjoyed our month of him being off but it so hard to keep everyone on schedule with distractions 😉😉 Much Love, Beth

Portaits of History

About four months ago my Grammy called and wanted us to come down and look at some old pictures she had. It surprised me that the kids enjoyed going through them also. Here are a few of my faves: My Grammy. I had seen this before but it has long been a favorite of mine. I guess I have always been intrigued because I wondered what little Lois was thinking. She has such a somber look on her face. Was she tired? Was she worried because she was beginning school later than the other kids? Did she want to wear that dress? Was she ready to go play with her brothers and sisters? Whatever it was, I think she was adorable. If I'm not mistaken, she told me that her mother made this dress for her. She also told me that she hated having to start school a month later than the other kids because she had to help her family get the cotton crop out. There was no hiding who you were...everybody knew that the the poor, sharecroppers kids would start school late. It embarrassed her.  T...

Let's Plan This!

Hello 2018!! I'm not sure how 2017 went by so fast, but I am sure happy it is gone. Not a lot of really great things happened for me or my family last year. There were brief moments of highs but it was mostly just a rough year. So here we are at the beginning of January, more than ready for a fresh start. I have my planners ready and I am excited to begin! First and foremost I keep a Homeschool planner. This planner is full of daily assignments for upcoming papers and projects. I have discovered that the Blue Sky planner works really well for this. Each day has lines and enough room to write each child's tasks for the day. I color code each kid: Carlie is green, Makena is blue, and Trey is red. Each of the kids also have a master binder that I keep. It tells me in detail what they will be taught that day via video, the grading scales for assignments, and things for me to copy for them. Everyday when their video teacher assigns them a quiz, skill sheet, or test they...

Merry Christmas!!

This was honestly one of the most laid back Christmases we have ever had (well, since having kids). We got up around 6:45 am and got cinnamon rolls in the oven, turned the fireplace and Christmas music channel on Netflix, and then got the kids up. I didn't wrap Makena and Trey's big things so they were able to see them as soon as they came in the living room. Carlie had to open hers up😉😉 They were so excited! Makena's bigger things were a drum, 21Pilots drumpad, and an irig. Trey's were an electric guitar, amp, and some Beats. Carlie's bigger items were a laptop and a furry stool she wanted for her room. They all got more, I'm just not going to list it all. Carl and I also exchanged presents, although he had already gotten most of his prior to Christmas. He ended up with a new grill, an outdoor heater, a grill set, and a Browning pullover he wanted. He kept telling me not to get him anything, so I thought we were going smaller this year. I think he just want...

Christmas Eve 2017

Selfie before church  I love these three  I love him too! Carlie and Baby My mom and Papa Yummy! Grammy and George Strait  Playing the saran wrap game Trey loves Grammy's pie Makena and Daisy  Watching "Home Alone" before bed We had a great Christmas Eve! We celebrated by attending church on Sunday morning and going to Grammy and Papa's house on Sunday night.  I had been sick since the Monday before Christmas, but started feeling a little better by Sunday. Preteen and teenage kids aren't as exciting as little kids are but they still love to open presents. Much Love, Beth

Merry, Merry, Merry!!

I was going through some old pictures last week and came across this one. It was our first Christmas card as a family of 5. They were all so little and precious! Carlie was a little under the weather most of last week so she decided to put together and decorate our gingerbread nativity. Ya'll, the thing wouldn't even stay together so we hot glued the pieces! Nobody will be eating this one, lol! Because we didn't get enough of the Christmas light while we were in Branson, we headed to Pine Bluff to see some more :)] We weren't really dressed to go in anywhere but I needed to run in Dillard's to get something. Couldn't miss a photo opp 😁 It is supposed to say Christmas in Casscoe,  but Aunt Becky forgot her other "c". Trey had his piano Christmas party on Monday night.  He did a great job and we had lots of fun! He's so handsome, if I have to say so myself!! "For into us a child is born, unto us a s...

"Behold, A Virgin Shall Be With Child, And Shall Bring Forth A Son, And They Shall Call His Name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew 1:23 Much Love, Beth
