Life Lately

Well, I guess it's about time I make another quick life update here on the blog.  Things have been busy and I just haven't made the time to blog.  As I was looking back through photos of the month of May, it has been a month of fishing and get-togethers around here. This duo had turned out to be a pretty good team! We have spent quite a bit of our spare time fishing.   Carl finally got a fishing boat and since there are only four of us now, it is a little more manageable. The kids love it (even though Trey gets tired of taking me and Makena every trip!) and we all get to spend some quality time together.  If the White river ever goes down, we will be spending as much time as we can afford (jet boat means lots of gas which means lots of $$) cruising and crashing at a sandbar. After Mother's Day my grandpa and uncle decided to have a family reunion of sorts (on a very small scale) for my grandpa's sisters to come down.  My grandpa will be 93 in August a...

Happy Mother's Day!

The three that call me "Mommy" I love them so much! We had to have one with Caleb too because he is one of us now. Mama Bear has plenty of love to go around! Because I don't have very many pictures of just the two of us. I love my mullet boy! This picture is super special to me. My mom, my Grammy, and my girls. I had such a great Mother's Day weekend.  Carl took us fishing Saturday afternoon then we all went to church on Sunday and ate lunch at my parent's house.  It was so good to visit and make sure our mother's know how much they are loved.    We didn't get to see Carl's mom this weekend but hope to make our way up there sometime next weekend.   Much Love, Beth

Fishing Fun

We have been thoroughly enjoying the outdoors lately.  More specifically, fishing.  Carl has been off because of rain so we have taken full advantage of the time off and caught a few fish.  We love a good fish fry, and it's even better if you can catch them yourself!  We have had lots of good laughs and made a ton of new memories.  Trey is ready to have his fishing trips back to just him and Carl, but I am thankful that they have let us girls tag along.   Much Love, Beth

40 and Older Product Reviews- April 2021

Happy Tuesday! I have been trying a few new things lately and I thought I'd share them with you guys in case you want to try them too! Beauty I have recently come to the conclusion that I am getting old (gulp) and while I'm not ready to go full-on gray with my hair, I am trying to slow up a little on the coloring because I just feel like the last time it made my hair extremely hard.  I have seen a ton of advertisements for root touch up products and thought I'd give it a try. I decided to pick this one up at while I was out shopping at Wal-Mart but  I'm pretty sure that you can find it at most stores where hair products are sold.  Holy cow, this stuff comes out crazy fast and I'm not sure if I had a defective can or what because I made a huge mess (brown spots on my face).  I guess my main issue was that I had no control over where it went or how much came out.  It worked on covering up grays....and your scalp....and anywhere else that gets in the way....

Easter Weekend 2021

Happy Monday!  That's pretty much an oxymoron, but it's a nice greeting none the less.  We had a fabulous weekend here on the homestead.  I got to spend lots of quality time with my family and we were able to spend Sunday worshiping as a family.   Makena came in from school on Friday morning.  They didn't have classes because it was Good Friday.  We went to Carlie's house (she was also off!) , then went shopping, and came home and enjoyed the sunshine!  Mama is always happy when all of her babies are home! Saturday was a very lazy day around here. We hung out outside, played ball, went for a walk, grilled some chops, and then went for a ride to the farm to look for frogs.  Notice I said LOOK and not HUNT.  There was no illegal hunting going on, I promise. My mom brought Trey and Makena their Easter treats. You're never too old for treats! Makena was helping Boone get familiar with the chickens. MJ, the barn cat had to hop in and se...
