Happy Easter!!

Well, today is finally Easter Day!  We were warned all week long that it might be raining and yucky all weekend, and sure enough it was!  I had to make a very hard decision this morning on whether or not to take Trey to church.  After much debate, I decided that it is best he didn't go.  I mean he does have pneumonia.  But the selfish side of me wanted him to go.  I wanted our whole family to be there together, to have our annual Easter picture made at the church.  But, I knew that it wasn't the best thing for Trey to be out. So I got the girls ready (and Carl) and sent them off to church....without me or Trey.
Carl and the girls.

They were photo bombed by Trey in this one!
He doesn't look too sick in this one, and he doesn't have fever anymore, but he is still coughing, and certainly didn't need to be out in the rain.

I made him put on the clothes he was going to wear and take some pictures for me.  Here he is with his three baskets.  He is such a nut!

Trey and Carl.  I love these two boys!!

After Carl and the girls got back from church, he stayed here with Trey while the girls and I went to Easter at my Grammy and Papa's.  It was fun, but not the same without my whole family!

Today wasn't the most perfect of days as far as our traditions go, but that doesn't change the meaning of Easter.
"He is not here, he has risen, just as he said..."
                      Matthew 28:6

We serve a risen Savior!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
