Happy Tuesday! Yay for short weeks!! We had a laid-back weekend around here. It wasn't sunny at all, which kind of sucked, but at least it wasn't raining the entire weekend. It did most of the day of Friday, so we just hung out here after everyone made it home. I'm not sure if it was the weather or something in the air, but I was just in a funk for the majority of the week, which is why my blogging fell by the wayside after Tuesday. Anyway, back to the weekend!
Carl and Trey were both off on Saturday but Makena had to work. After they worked on his boat for an hour or two, we went to the river to test it out. Carl and I were just in the aluminum fishing boat just in case he had trouble. It wasn't not pretty outside, and to be honest it was a little chilly!
The only picture I took. It runs and he is pretty happy with it.
That's a WIN...until he decides to change something :)
Sunday was church day. This was an extra special Sunday because Trey got to preach in our evening service. He did a good job for his first time. He seemed to be pretty comfortable most of the time. I was proud of him and the stand he is taking for the Lord. All of my immediate family were there to hear him. I know it meant a lot to him.
And believe it or not, everyone was off on Monday! Even Caleb :) We never really know when he will be around, but we are always happy to have him with us. We had a fish fry and homemade ice cream. Makena also made a delicious cherry pie. Then were all able to go out to the pool for an hour or two. Wrenley had a fantastic time playing with everyone in the pool :)

Trey's friend and former roommate, Travis came down to hear him preach and decided to stay the night.
Wrenley had Makena take her all around the pool in this float.
She also had on her ring AND a floaties. I think she was super safe :)
She loved having her mom and dad in the pool with her.
This is their last holiday as a family of three :)
I caught Trey diving in. It was super cold!!
Trey and Wrenley love to bother each other.
She wanted him out of her float!
Soaking up the last days of being an only child.
She will always be the princess.
After a good swim, we came home and had quiet time. Carl and I both took a little nap. Makena was back in her room, and Travis went back home. Trey came down and at supper and went back home. It was a great weekend. The only thing that would have made it better was if it had been sunny and clear!
Between the river breeze, the sweet time at church, the smell of fish frying and the sound family splashing in the pool, it ended up being one of those weekends that fills your heart in the best kind of way. And while we enjoyed the fun and family, we also paused to remember the reason for the holiday and the sacrifices that were made so that we can live in a free country.
Much Love,
Beth
