What's Up Wednesday

Hey friends! It's been a while since I've done a link-up, so today I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for this month's What's Up Wednesday!

What We're Eating This Week...
Summer cook-out food!! Monday we had fried fish, french-fries, fried biscuits, and hushpuppies. Tuesday we grilled out hamburgers and hot dogs, had chips and cheese dip with corn on the cob. And of course we had watermelon! I just love everything about a good *summer* cook-out!

What I'm Reminiscing About...
I am reminiscing mostly about all of the fun summers from when my kids were younger. It can be hard to be a mom at home with all of your kids in the summer. But I think over all we had some pretty great summers!

What We've Been Up To...
As we've drawn to the end of another school year, we have also come to the end of our youth programs at church. I know I have talked about it before, but it is a welcomed sight to me! I still teach Sunday School, and I will be teaching this year during VBS as opposed to doing the music, but I was getting tired, ya'll! I love my kids, but I was teaching the almost the same kids on Sunday morning that I was on Wednesday night! Hopefully we can make some adjustments so that doesn't happen next year :) Carl has been busy finishing up planting the beans at the farm. Makena has been busy with museum, community center, and historical society things, and Trey SURRENDERED TO THE MINISTRY! I wasn't even there during invitation that Sunday morning when he went forward. Wrenley had to go to the bathroom and we just stayed out. Our pastor gave him the opportunity to preach last Sunday. He has a lot to learn, but he was so at ease in that pulpit. I am proud of him. I know preaching God's Word isn't always easy, but I pray that he is always bold and obedient. We are hoping that he will attend the seminary in the fall.

What I'm Working On...
Right now, I'm working on getting things together for my VBS class. Although it is four weeks away, we will have a newborn and a toddler in the mix! I need to have as much done as possible, so I can help Carlie, especially when Caleb is on-call. She has to have a c-section, so she will need quite a bit of help in the beginning.
I'm not the director. I left that job to my mom and Makena!

What I'm Excited About...
Speaking of a newborn: Wesley Dean will be here no later than 8 days! I am so excited to have a grandson. And I am excited about seeing Wrenley with her baby brother.
Look at those precious lips 💙

What I'm Watching/Reading...
Carl and I have been watching two new series: The first being Marshalls with Luke Grimes. It has a few of the characters from Yellowstone. I have really enjoyed it so far. And watching Luke Grimes doesn't hurt :)

The other one that we have enjoyed is Dutton Ranch, featuring Rip and Beth :) I love their story.

What I'm Listening To...
I'm not listening to anything super exciting or new. I have made a Sandbar & Boat Tunes playlist on Spotify. You can listen here:
I have also found yet another guilty pleasure in listening to the Bloodline Banter podcast. Landon & Riley are hilarious.

What I'm Wearing...
I am far from a fashion blogger but I do have a few pieces from my Nuuly this month that I will show you.
I think this polka dot romper is precious.
It is comfy and it would also be cute for a Disney trip!

This dress is super form fitting, but also very comfortable.
It is from Anthropologie and came to me with the tags.

This sweater wasn't from my Nuuly box but from a local boutique.
The brand is Double Zero, and it's perfect for the summer!

The quality of this picture kind of sucks but these pants are great!
They are a linen blend, slightly barreled style by the brand Pilcro (another Anthro brand).

What I'm Doing This Weekend...

Assuming we don't have a baby by then, we have a family reunion on Saturday. Guys, we have three reunions this summer. I am going to this one because I can't remember the last time that we had anything with my dad's family. We also have 5th Sunday at church. So basically, I'm going to be cooking and socializing all weekend (YIKES!).

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...
I am most looking forward to enjoying this summer. Like I said, I will be helping with grandbabies, doing church things, spending time at the houseboat on the river, and hanging out at the pool. I want to do all the things this summer to make it feel memorable. I want to really live it intentionally.
We love the river and the sandbar!

That's my What's Up Wednesday for the month of May :)
If you're new here, drop a comment and let me know. I would love to have you as a regular follower. If you love Jesus, family, and a slower lifestyle, we definitely have a spot for you here.

Much Love,
Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! We made it through another week here on the homestead. Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites :) This week has flown by! On Monday, Wrenley started her new "school year" at daycare. Even though she is in the same school with a lot of the same kids, she moved up and is now officially in PreK! She has had to adjust to new teachers, but seems to like it so far :) She is BeBe's big girl! 💓💓💓 At the beginning of the week, Carl asked if Makena and I wanted to go with him and Trey put some corn and salt blocks out for the deer. Say less, sir! Of course, our answer was yes :) Our chariot and driver Trey and Maggie Hopefully, our hard work pays off! Also came across this guy. He was around 5 ft. long and had 14 rattlers. Don't ask how I know that 😟 We always have a good time when we hang out with our guys, and that is most certainly a favorite! Watching my girl do her thing at work will always be my favorite!...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, Friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday Favorites. What a week it has been! Having picnics with Wrenley and Makena were pretty high up on my favorites list. She wanted a lunchable (big surprise there!) while Makena and I had tuna salad. Playing outside is a must with Wrenley! And she loves making sure the bird bath has plenty of water! Another thing on my favorites list is listening to Trey play the guitar. This smile is also my favorite! We had a celebration for my son-in-law, Caleb this week. He is a pretty great guy and we are thankful that he is "ours" now :)  He is my favorite son-in-law! As I was studying for my Gospel Project lesson earlier this week I realized we only have 3 more lessons! That means that summer break is just 3 weeks away (for our Wednesday night program)! Although I will still have to prepare lessons for Sunday School and VBS.  Summer is my favorite! This summer will be extra sp...

Friday Favorites

Woo Hoo, it's Friday! Just last week I was talking about how this month is flying by, but this week has moved at a snail's pace! Today, I am linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for Friday Favorites. I have been working on my fitness for about a year now, more seriously in the past 6 months. One thing I've worked on is getting my daily protein in. I tried the built puff protein bars a while ago and they are wonderful, but earlier this week I found the sour puffs, and wow, those things are surprisingly amazing!! I've also taken the new year to do a little more for myself. I started ordering from Nuuly (a monthly clothing subscription). I have found serveral brands that I have wanted to try. There is no pressure to buy anything. You just simply pick 6 items, wear them for the month and send it back and then pick 6 more items (of course, you can purchase if you like). This is a new favorite of mine. At the end of November I bought tickets to the Jason Aldean conce...
