Here For the Boos

Everyone here knows that summer is my most favorite season of the year, but coming in at a close second is fall.  More specifically, October!  At the beginning of the month, Makena came home for fall break. I think it was much needed for her, and I know I was sure happy to see her for more than a weekend. We took a nice little nature walk. My two handsome boys. We got a little rain so Carl was off and able to go with us. All the girls 💗 Wrenley loves her Aunt Kena! She also loves to help BeBe clean the house! Getting our spooky on over here 👻 It is going to be a great month.  If things keep going as scheduled, harvest will be over and done within a week or so.  Trey is still working and going to school, Makena has been working her booty off working and trying to wrap up her first semester of her SENIOR year, and I am here juggling Wrenley, typical housewife stuff, teaching Trey and keeping up with all of my church responsibilities.  I would be lying if I...

The Rest of September

The rest of September was an absolute blur.  Rice harvest was in full swing and the weather couldn't have been any better for it.  My mom decided to have a pumpkin carving party for my nephew's 15th birthday party. All of the "kids" had a lot of fun doing it.  Carl even made it in time to eat!  We take whatever we can get these days.   So much fun! Wrenley got pretty thirsty running around. I mean, look at that sweet little face 💓 She is the cutest little pumpkin in the patch. Trey brought his girlfriend, Sarah. I guess that means we aren't that embarrassing! Pappy loves that baby girl so much. We had yummy burgers and hot dogs for dinner before cake. Makena stayed at school that weekend and we missed her dearly!  I know she was having fun though. I am so thankful for all that God has blessed us with this month.  Life isn't always easy, but with God's help, we can face anything. Much Love, Beth

Trey Turns 18!

Wow! I can't even believe I just wrote that title!  When I first started this blog, I believe he was only 4.  The days can seem so long and daunting, but man, are the years short!  He has grown into a hard-working, kind-hearted, and maybe a little hard-headed young man, right before my eyes.  I am proud of him and can't wait to see what the future holds for him.   His birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, and of course, Carl is right in the middle of rice harvest, so we celebrated his birthday with our family on Sunday. All of my babies! My Mom, Dad, and Toby with the birthday boy! Nanny made him a dirt cake (one of his favorite desserts!) I have a rule in my house: everybody has to blow out candles on their actual birthday.  I just feel like it is a day worth celebrating!! So while everyone else gave him presents on Sunday, Carl and I waited until his birthday :) I gave him the day off from school, and he decided to work all day $$$ Happy 18th b...

Back To Homeschool 2023

Well I have made it.  This is my very last year to homeschool because my baby is a SENIOR! The left was his first day of kindergarten and the right was his first day of school. My handsome cowboy My school room. I said a couple of posts back that I was going to have a school room this year.  I also thought I was going to have the time to actually fix it like I wanted to.  We ran out of time and the heat has just been horrendous here.  I am pretty happy about having a spot to keep all of the stuff and not having to pick it up all the time because we are schooling in the living room or dining room.  I only wish I had this when I was homeschooling all three of my kids. Our first week of school was great!  Trey wakes up early enough to do his chores with the chickens and then he gets started with school.  He is taking Bible, English 12, Physics, Consumer Math, American Government, and Speech this semester.  A few classes will change next semeste...

Weekend Rewind: First Birthday Edition

Look who celebrated her first birthday over the weekend: My sweet little Wren! I couldn't have imagined how much of a joy that she would be.  She loves Elmo and dogs!  She is walking, squealing, and saying a few words.  I'm still waiting for her to say, "BeBe".  She tries to mouth it :) She loves to be outside swinging and riding on the Ranger.  Cutting teeth are rough on her (and her mama!) but she is the absolute sweetest thing in the world, and she has her BeBe and Pappy wrapped around her little finger. BeBe and Pappy with Wren. Poor Pappy was looking a little rough. They are just beginning to harvest rice and the temps are over 100 degrees with heat indexes around 110. That's miserable for anyone! He didn't get to stay very long but we'll give him a pass this time! She LOVED the cake! Of course, her theme was Wren's World (Elmo)! The highchair she is sitting in was my dad's (65 years ago!) Her one-year pictures were absolutely gorgeous! This l...

One last Move-In

Well today was the day that we moved Makena back to college for the last time! It is unbelievable that this is her senior year of college.  It seems like just yesterday that I was so happy to be wearing a mask (Fall of 2020) so I could hide the ugly crying from leaving my baby far from home.  Each year things have gotten easier.  It helps that she knows people and has friends and loves her roommates.  I am so proud of her.   Senior 2024 Welcome Home Tigers :) Makena as a Freshman Saying goodbye for a few days :) The picture she sent me on the first day of classes! 💕💕💕💕💕 Happy first week of classes! Much Love, Beth

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! We had one of the most relaxing weekends that we've had in a while!  Carl was off all weekend!  On Friday night we watched Wrenley while Carlie and Caleb went out to eat with some friends.  They weren't very late, but she was so ready to see her mama and go to bed. I sure love my little blondie! Is there anything sweeter than a freshly bathed baby in snuggly jammies?!  Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time with that sweet baby.   I really can't believe that she will be one in just a few weeks! Saturdays are for fun! Makena loves driving the jet boat. Relaxing at the river! The three stooges😂 Sundays are for church and for Seniors! Look at my little baby! This was his first day of kindergarten.  He was super pumped to go to school :) And now I'm left with this! I am proud of him.   He is funny and has the sweetest heart (no matter how much he tries to play the tough guy). I am going to savor every moment  th...
