Garrett Christmas

Last night we went to DeWitt to my Papaw's for Christmas with my Dad's side of the family.  We had lots of laughs, good food, and of course gifts for the kids.  The adults played Dirty Santa and  I was the good wife and got Carl what he wanted because I was lucky #1!  He ended up with two really nice gifts, but I didn't really care.  Dirty Santa is my least favorite thing about Christmas.  It's just not fun to me.  I don't enjoy taking gifts away from people or ending up with the gift that nobody else wants!  The kids got movies, toys, money, and they each got a subscription to a magazine, which might not have thrilled them at the time, but I know they will enjoy it throughout the year.  I wasn't a very good photographer last night and didn't get very many pictures, but here are the few that I did get.
Makena was hiding behind her DS

Chowing down!

Trey, Austin, and Derek...what did we do before DS's?

We got Austin a tabletop foosball game and let me
tell you it was a HIT!!  All the kids couldn't wait to
play :)

Well, that's two down and three more to go!!  We have our church Christmas Program tonight and I can't wait to see it!  They have been working on this since October (Sunday's only) and I'm sure they'll all do a good job.  I really am thankful that we have people who work with the kids on stuff like that.  It really takes lots of patience and organization, neither of which are my strong points!  Makena woke up with a bad sore throat (without fever) and went to church this morning but I'm hoping that she'll be able to make it through her solo tonight (cross your fingers).  Six more days until the madness ends!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
