Church Christmas Program: A Christmas to Believe In

Merry Christmas Sunday from the crazies!!

My crew getting ready for our Christmas Program

Maxee Parker came to see us!

Mary and Gabriel, aka Carlie and Lydia

Collin the wandering shepherd.
And we begin!

Makena was one of the Narrators
Zechariah and Elizabeth, played by Uncle Dean and Aunt Becky

Elizabeth and Mary

My handsome Shepherd Boy!

Joseph and Mary

He did such a good job. At one point I looked at him and died laughing because he was stroking his sheep!! It was hilarious!

Kynnlea and Trey

Makena and Pop singing in the choir.
He really does a good job helping them sing.

Today was our Christmas Sunday services.  We had a great service this morning and tonight the kids put on our annual Christmas Program.  They did such a great job!  Makena had a main part as one of the Narrators, Carlie was Mary, and Trey was a shepherd with a speaking part.  He did such a good job of memorizing his part, and he nailed it! My parents were the directors of the play and did a really good job of making sure the kids did and said what they were supposed to....even if that did mean having a last minute Saturday practice (which my kids did NOT like!).  I know they are a bit relieved that it is all over!
On the way home from church tonight Carlie said, "now it feels like Christmas break!":) I remember feeling the same way as a kid.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
