Winter Break Bonfire

We are thouroughly enjoying our winter break so far.  Saturday was a pretty restful day.  We just kinda hung out and did our own things.  Carl took Trey hunting this morning and Makena hunting in the afternoon.  In between we fixed deer meat for my parents, piddled around outside, and cleaned.  You can take a guess for yourself as to who did which of those jobs :)
Anyway, we've had it planned to have a bonfire for NYE, but decided that we would go ahead and have one tonight too, in case the weather didn't cooperate Tuesday night.  The kids had a lot of fun and decided that me and Carl needed to get in on some silly pictures!
Our fire after we finally got it going!

Me and Makena....I remind myself of the girl from "Blair Witch Project"!

Check out my photobomber, Makena!

Then things started getting silly!

Trey thought it would be funny for me to ride his tractor (that was Carl's when he was little)!

He will never be mistaken for Gene Simmons with that short tongue!

It was a fun silly night.  We didn't even stay out late because it is a Saturday and we all had to be bathed and put in bed early enough to wake up and go to church!  In fact, I think we were all in by 9:30!  I'm sure if we are able, NYE will be a little different.  We are already working on our plans, we just have to go buy some fireworks Monday!  Happy Saturday, friends!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
