We are about to start a very busy season here on the homestead. I was looking at my planner and it's like all of the summer things are happening in July! I like being busy but just looking at the schedule is giving me anxiety.
And that's where my the first of my Friday Favorites. One of my favorite Bible verses.
I am trusting in the Lord to give me the strength I need to do all the things.

A year ago lots of things were different. For a good while it seemed as if things were falling apart in my life.
My sweet Makena Faith was about to undergo her second back surgery in four months. We both wondered what normal would look like after another recovery. Thankfully, that second surgery was a success and she has had no problems. The pictures below still scare me but she is confident in her abilities and I just watch and pray. She won't dare go off the diving board and is a little bummed about no roller coasters, but seeing her being able to flip and so handstands in the pool is a summer favorite!

Fishing is always a favorite, especially to a country kid!
And he is my favorite country boy!

She drives me nuts sometimes but I am thankful that I have her around. Good times at the pool with my mom are my favorite.
Nanny going down her slide.

Some of my favorite summer days are depicted in this picture: sitting on my front porch.

That's all for this week's Friday Favorites.  I can't wait to see some of yours!

Much Love,
  • Beth

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
