Arrest These Merry Gentlemen!

Carlie in front of the school tree
Makena Faith
Trey in front of the Giving Tree.  Everyone brings supplies for the school and puts them under the tree.

Carlie on stage with some of her classmates
Makena with Madeline and Sidney

The 4th grade class on stage with "Rookie" and "Sheriff Joe Sabbath"

Braden, Trey, Hayden, and Atticus singing (loudly)
The Choir

The first row is most of the boys in Mrs. Odom's class

The ending scene.  Four of the six on stage are seniors :(  They will be greatly missed next year!

The name of our school program this year was "Arrest These Merry Gentlemen" and if you get a chance you should go on YouTube and look it up.  You probably won't find our school doing it, but there is a school in Texas that does it and it is super cute.  This was of course Trey's first school Christmas Program and he did really well.  All of the teachers got such a kick out of watching him sing because his whole body would move when he was singing.  This was also the girls first time to be on stage in a Christmas Program, rather than just be in the choir.  Not that the choir isn't important, but this year, they all got a chance to be on stage in the spotlight. They did great also :)  It was a fun night and now I can finally say, WE ARE ON CHRISTMAS BREAK!!!  Can't wait for some rest and relaxation....of course that will mainly be next week (after Christmas) :)  Please pray that we all stay well because Trey isn't feeling well and I hope nobody else gets it!

Happy Christmas Break Everybody!!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for another Friday favorites. And here they are in no particular order: Last week our preacher told us that he had a surprise for us next week.  I had honestly forgotten about it until Carl mentioned at lunch on Sunday.  Trey said he knew what it was, but he wasn't telling.  It still didn't occur to me what it could be until we arrived at church on Sunday night, and I saw that Trey had a notebook along with his Bible sitting next to him on our pew.  It was him. Trey was the surprise.  He gave a short devotion before our Business Meeting.  He did well, considering it was his first time.  He said the congregation was a lot scarier when you are the one being stared at! This is a big deal because about 7 months ago he realized that he needed Jesus as his Savior.  And that came after about 7 months of me worrying about him, while he was trying to stretch hi...

Friday Favorites

Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Over the past three weeks, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend more time with Wrenley. She is growing up so much. She is speaking in full sentences and is a clown to boot! We've enjoyed lots of naps in BeBe's bed, playing with baby dolls (one of her favorite things), and since I have to pick her up before 7 a.m. on the days she stays with me, we enjoy getting her favorites: donuts (nonuts) and hotcakes from McDonald's -not at the same time though! Snug as a bug in a rug! She loves her Ky Ky Another favorite is a clean kitchen! We have had our house in a bit of chaos like I'm sure everyone else has with all the holiday festivities (and with Carl being off). I am glad to have everything in its proper place! That ray of sunshine is therapy for my soul! The next thing on my favorites list is Carl's chili. We had it last night and will probably have leftovers for a few day...

Friday Favorites

It's been a hot minute since I've linked up with  Andrea  and  Erika  for a Friday Favorites! This is me trying to get back into my blogging groove :) I came across this little dress last year when we moved, and I knew it would be fit Wrenley this summer! It was Makena's circa 2004.  I just love it when a plan comes together.  A favorite for sure! Look at those babies. Twenty years has flown by. Miss Wrenley Beth. She doesn't look a thing like her momma, but definitely has Aunt Makena's sass! Hopefully as her hair grows, she will get Carlie's curls. We have been doing as much outdoor activities as possible.  That includes one of my favorite things...fishing! Carl, showing off his big bass. We weren't technically bass fishing, but whatever bites. It'll eat! Of course we have also been going to the river.  Our kids weren't able to go with us, so we just took the jet ski.   It has been raining so the water is a gross brown. I didn't s...
